We, the undersigned Australian business owners, founders, and investors, reject the Albanese Government's proposed tax on unrealised gains. Taxing wealth that has not been realised punishes the people who build, employ, and invest in this country. It forces founders to sell down the businesses they have spent decades creating, simply to pay a bill on paper profits. We call on the Prime Minister and Treasurer to abandon this tax before it takes effect on 1 July 2027, and to commit to a tax system that rewards — not penalises — the act of building.
